What is Fullstack @ SLO?

For the first time ever, leading coding bootcamp Fullstack Academy is running a program right here in SLO. You'll work through an intense, 13-week in-person bootcamp, where you'll train to become a professional software engineer.

After the bootcamp ends, you'll start a paid coding apprenticeship with a company in SLO!

“Fullstack is a cut above every other bootcamp I applied to... Fullstack was one of the best experiences of my life.”

How the program works

1. Take the pre-work course

You'll learn some basic programming concepts in this 10-hour online course. After you pass a short coding assessment, we'll invite you to step 2!

2. Take Bootcamp Prep

New classes start every month for this live online course, which lasts 3.5 weeks. Learn alongside other online students, Monday-Thursday evenings, 6:40 PM - 9:40 PM.

3. Take the Admissions Assessment

If you pass the assessment, then we know you've got the basic coding skills you'll need to succeed in Fullstack @ SLO. So we'll invite you to step #4!

4. Apply

Fill in the application form, then we'll invite you to an interview. This will help us get to know you a little bit, and make sure you'd be a good fit in this program.

5. Accept & Attend

If you pass the interview, we'll invite you to attend Fullstack @ SLO! We promise, it will be a life-changing experience.

6. Start a paid apprenticeship

You'll start working right after you graduate from the bootcamp, in a paid apprenticeship with one of our hiring partners...which includes companies like Amazon, iFixit and PG&E!

Student Reviews

Customer Testimonials

A word of advice to older prospective students like myself. You may be frustrated where you are right now, but afraid to make the leap, to quit your job, to spend your savings on a bootcamp, to take three months to learn, to work 80 hours a week. I promise it's worth it.

Customer Testimonials

Fullstack Academy is, by all measures, the best investment I have made to date, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anybody considering it, especially those with little to no prior programming knowledge. I will note, however, that hard, consistent, and dedicated individual work is a must if you want to make the most out of the Fullstack investment.

Customer Testimonials

Within 4 weeks, I received 2 job offers at companies I was really excited about. During my interviews, both companies were pleasantly surprised by how knowledgable and capable a boot camp grad could be. Truly, I owe it all to Fullstack's education and preparation.

Common Questions

What are the program requirements?

You must live within 45 miles of San Luis Obispo, be at least a high school graduate, and looking for a job as a software engineer after the program.

I’m not a beginner...do I need to do the pre-work and Bootcamp Prep, or can I apply without taking them?

If you're at an advanced-beginner or intermediate level, then you can test out of one or both of these classes. Email us at slo@fullstackacademy.com and we can give you the details.

Am I guaranteed a job or a certain salary?

We want to see 100% job placement for the graduates of Fullstack @ SLO. While placement is not guaranteed, we are confident in our bootcamp and its results! We don't believe a job guarantee policy is necessary because, during our admissions process, we not only evaluate if a candidate is technically ready to succeed in the program but also if a candidate will be able to achieve their stated goal for attending - often that's getting a job as a software developer.

How does the bootcamp work?

You'll start with a 5-week online course called Foundations (about 30 hours/week) then move into the Software Engineering Immersive (aka the bootcamp). The bootcamp is a full-time 13 week course, in a classroom in SLO with your fellow coding students. Classes take place from 10am-630pm Monday through Friday from October 29th to February 15th.

How much does it cost from start to finish? Is there financing or scholarships?

The bootcamp tuition is $17,610. You can apply for financing through SkillsFund and there are scholarships available for women, and for students who recently graduated from high school in the SLO area.
